1) Using hand phones constantly


In the modern era that utilizes technology in almost every aspect of our lives, cell phones play a fundamental role in communicating and sustaining relationships. Known for its convenience and smart features, cell phones has been changing the lives of people on a daily basis. But are you aware that this smart technology is part of a major cancer-causing factor.

Cell phones emit radio frequency energy which is a form of non-ionizing radiation from their antennas. The tissues nearby the antennas are exposed to the radiation. Although radiation does not do damages to cells, constant exposure of tissues to radiation lowers the melatonin in the body which actually helps to ward off cancerous cells.


2) Sitting for a prolong period


Have you ever encountered a day where you are required to sit all day long? Yes, it can be pretty relaxing to just sit back while doing nothing. However, are you aware of the dangers you may be facing by doing nothing?

Active involvement in physical activities is always the solution for any disease. More often than not, physical activities are also often associated with the methods to prevent diseases. 3) Inhaling diesel and petrol fumes

According to World Health Organization (WHO), diesel and petrol fumes are classified as carcinogenic with almost similar effect to a second-hand cigarette smoke. Therefore, preventing these fumes will be better to prevent chronic respiratory related problems and lung cancer. The WHO also categorised diesel and petrol to the same category as the deadly asbestos, arsenic, and mustard gas.


4) Eating processed meat


Studies have shown that processed meats often contain cancer-causing chemicals. These chemicals are usually included to help preserve the meats. The WHO has also classified processed meats such as ham, salami, and bacon as a Group 1 carcinogen.  Therefore, consuming too much of processed food can be deadly too.


5) Drinking alcohol too often


Alcohol has been linked to various types of cancers such as mouth, throat, oesophagus, and also breast cancer. The risks of getting cancer by drinking alcohol is also said to increase with the doses. Therefore, it is advisable to adapt a moderate drinking habit for both men and women. Do you know by reducing the consumption of alcohol, you can prevent 7 types of cancer?
